Falcon Medicine
Dr Margit Gabriele Muller’s veterinary doctorate degree on “Bumblefoot in Falcons Used for Hunting” at the Ludwigs-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany, paved the way for her specialization as a falcon veterinarian. With over 25 years’ experience and over 100,000 falcons already treated, she has established herself as one of the most internationally renowned falcon medicine specialists.
With the publication of her book on falcon medicine Practical Handbook of Falcon Medicine and Husbandry , research on two new diseases in falcons (Enterocytozoon bieneusi infections and Acinetobacter baumannii in localised cutaneous mycobacteriosis), as well as more than 50 presentations and publications, Dr Margit is keen to pass her extensive knowledge on to veterinarians, veterinary students and falconers all over the world. She wishes to achieve a significant improvement in the way falcons are cared for and medically treated.
